Yesterday's Dr.'s Visit....
I went to the doctor yesterday and everything seemed good again! Her heartbeat was 150 bpm and my belly measured 21 cm (closer to the actual weeks this time). One thing that REALLY surprised me about this appointment was my weight! I gained 9 POUNDS in 4 weeks!!!! Holy cow! I was of course freaking out but the doctor assured me that it is okay. Really I have only gained 11 in total during the pregnancy and I am already halfway done but still....I better not gain 9 pounds every 4 weeks. Geez!

Our Exciting Day...
Today was amazing! I was not expecting 4-D pictures at all so that was awesome. Seeing the baby for the first time was incredible! Our little baby girl was so active throughout the entire ultrasound it was very hard for the lady to get good shots of her apparently. She would not stop moving! When she finally announced it was a girl I was just so happy! Poor Jimmy...he said he could not relax until the doctor came in and said everything looked normal and she seems to be a healthy baby girl. I am glad we have the DVD and pictures so we can watch it again together and he can actually enjoy watching it rather than feel nervous the whole time!
Of course, right after the ultrasound I went to Babies R Us to look around at all the girly stuff. I then went to Motherhood Maternity and treated myself to some fat-lady pants! They were so comfortable (compared to the juniors clothes I have been wearing) that I ripped the tags off, paid for them and wore them right out of the store. I didn't want to take them off!
It is so nice to be able to talk about the baby more definitely like talking about names and the room, etc. Jimmy is so funny though. I know this little girl is going to be his little princess already the way he is talking. So cute!
A lot of amazing things happened today. We got to see the baby, get confirmation that everything seems to be going great and she looks healthy, we found out that Baby Messner is Baby Girl Messner and we got to share the news with our family and friends....what a wonderful day.

It's A Girl!!!!
Sweet Baby Girl Messner looking happy!
The cute little foot that has been kicking me I'm sure!
Her cute little leg
Leave me alone already! She seemed to like her arm above her head like that.
Sweet little baby face! ;0)
This is probably my favorite pic. She looks like she's waiting for mommy and daddy to hold her!
Waving hello to all of her family and friends!
Cutie-pa-tootie little legs!

Somersaults and Excitement!
Little Baby Messner has been super active the last few days. Before the feelings were just like little puffs of popcorn but the baby did a giant somersault or something the other night. It was amazing!!! I think I can feel it on the outside of my belly only because I know where to expect it as I can feel it on the inside as well. I really can't wait for Jimmy to be able to experience feeling it. I can't wait to see his face when he feels the first little kick!
Also, the wait is almost over! We have all day today and "one more sleep" until we find out if Baby Messner is a little baby girl or a little baby boy (or possibly one of each..yikes!). We have been counting down the days and "sleeps" until tomorrow and I can't believe it is almost here. We have not had the usual experience I think with ultrasounds. Most people I know have one at their first visit and then more before they find out the sex of the baby. This will be our first picture of the little sweet pea and I can't wait! I will definitely be posting a picture of the ultrasound on the blog tomorrow. YEAH!!! Then the fun will begin with shopping and decorating the room. So exciting!

First Belly Pics! Courtesy of the fabulous Ms. Stephanie Smith!!
Okay, so here are the very first belly pictures of Baby Messner! The first one where my belly is just peeking from behind the tree was just a funny joking around picture but I put it up anyway because it looks kind of funny. "Peek" was my first word so maybe it is fitting for Baby Messner!
We went to Chandler yesterday to pick up Stephanie's camera and she wanted to test her camera out at a park nearby. She ended up taking these pictures. She of course is fabulous. I don't follow directions very well though so I am not a very good subject. I promise I will do better next time Steph! Thank You!

My Lovely Lady Bump
First off, Jimmy cracks me up! He is so in awe about how fast the belly grows when you are pregnant. Sometimes we will be walking or just sitting there and I look over and his jaw is to the floor and his eyes look like they have come out of their sockets! Last night he serenaded me with a Fergie impression singing "my bump, my bump, my bump, my lovely lady bump!" He is too funny!
ALSO, I definitely felt the little baby moving around in there last night. I think I felt it a few days ago for only about 3 or 4 seconds but last night it was on a roll! It felt like a little gerbil (or baby I guess) rolling around in there!
I never thought I would have anything to post until I had an ultrasound picture but geez, there is new stuff everyday with this wild and crazy adventure we are on!

Last Dr.'s Appointment - 16 weeks
Last week I had a dr.'s appointment. I got to hear my favorite sound right now in the universe..the baby's heartbeat! I think she said it was 150 bpm. She also measured my belly. Apparently right now I should measure in centimeters exactly how far along I am. I was 16 weeks at the time and she measured me at 18 cm. Hmmm...interesting. I don't know what that means! The only other important thing from that appointment that we decided was as of right now I am delivering at Good Samaritan Hospital. My dr. will only deliver at Good Sam or St. Joe's. I just made a quick decision so she could know where I would be going for emergencies. Jimmy and I will have to do a tour to find out. I am pretty familiar with both hospitals though and I think either one will be suited just fine for Baby Messner!
The most exciting thing that happened at the appointment (besides the heartbeat music) was her writing the script for my ultrasound. This will be my very first ultrasound! It is scheduled for the morning of June 22nd and I get to find out what the baby is! Pink with zebra or Green with Zebra...which one? Don't forget to vote on what you think it is! I love hearing what people think the baby will be! :0)
More updates later....

Tiredness and Potty-Breaks and Puking....Oh My!
Well, I am 17 weeks now and completely thought I would be over being sick and tired by now. I absolutely LOVE being pregnant but this many weeks of throwing up...come on!
Tiredness - I thought with it being summer break and not working I would be getting much more energy these days. Well, that is not the case. I think I am going to blame the garage-sale weekend I just had and hope for more energy in the next few weeks.
Potty-Breaks - I have never been one to fall asleep after waking up. Unfortunately for me now, I am waking up every day between 4AM and 5AM to go to the bathroom. I know, I know...for some of you that is normal time (I applaud you) but for me it is absolutely not! I work at a 9AM start school which definitely does not require me to be up that early. Luckily though, Jimmy can sleep through all of my moving around, getting up, turning lights and the tv on. I am sure he appreciates that ability too! ;0)
Puking - I have tried many different words for this (even some old-school ones that I won't mention) but the "nicer sounding" of all of them is puking. I suppose throwing up would work too but it just doesn't give the same effect. :0) While we were hoping and dreaming of becoming pregnant I always said that I hoped I would not get sick. When I thought of being sick, I thought it was just going to be for a few weeks tops and that's it. Well, Baby Messner...the sweet pea that he/she is...thought differently! I am 17 weeks now and am still throwing up. I have to say though, it does comfort me a bit to know that all of these symptoms just mean a strong and healthy baby is growing and it of course is all for a wonderful cause!
After all of this complaining I feel that I need to put another disclaimer...I do love being pregnant and am so grateful for the blessing of the beautiful baby I am carrying. I just needed a ranting moment!

Welcome!
Welcome to our baby blog! We couldn't be more excited for the baby to come and for all of you to join us and check in on our journey to parenthood! As we take them, more pictures will be posted of the ever-growing belly and all of the future ultrasounds.
I have a poll going on the site. Please weigh in on if you think Baby Messner will be a boy or a girl. We will be finding out on June 22nd and of course, we will let all of you know.
Thanks for checking in and being a part of this wonderful journey we are on!
